The BackyardAquaponics sump tank also known as the drain tank or fingerling tank, is often used when the main fish tank is too high for the grow beds to drain back into via gravity. The sump tank allows the grow beds to drain into it and then for the water to be pumped back to the main tank, by a pump that is regulated with a float valve. The tank can also be used as a fingerling tank to store young or small fish away from larger fish that may eat them. The fish tank holds 500L of water and measures: 1.3m diameter and 0.5m high.
